Question New to me 2007 TL - 57k miles on it

Hello,

I recently purchased my first Acura TL 2007 with 57k miles on it. I own 2 Audis and have spent over 4 years on quattroworld.com. So far I am in love with the car and just can't stop driving it. The only issue that I am facing is the tranny shuddering on low rpm when going from 2nd to 3rd gear(I think so) and it also makes noise while shuddering. Would that be related to tranny mounts? Is is fixable? Thank you in advance.

Here are some interior shots:

I will post some exterior shots once the weather in Chicago clears up

Cheers!

So I just called Acura Dealer to get my car checked... Was that a good idea?

Your car looks clean. I had an 07 just like that. Getting it checked by dealer is a good idea

Thank you! I really love the car and it feels much better than my previous daily driver (2001 Audi A8L). My only concern is the tranny but let's hope that the dealership will get that fixed..

did you just purchase this car from the dealership? If so, did they give you a warranty?

Did you research about the tranny of the TLs before buying it? I'm hoping the guy wasn't selling it because he knew the tranny was starting to go. Also any video of the shudder/flare?

I did but wasn't expecting 57k car having a issue with the trany. I own 2001 Audi A8L with 204k miles on if with first tranny. I don't have any videos of the issue yet since it doesn't happen too often and it is hard to capture it...

I would recommend changing the transmission fluid either with OEM, Redline, or AMSOIL whichever you seem fit after researching them. I'm currently changing my tranny fluid with Redline D4 using the 3x3 drain and fill method but spread out not all at once. The shifts are much better since changing the fluids so that might help. Also changing the pressure switches is another thing, most people on this forum have done these things. I've never owned an audi so I don't know how their trannies compare to TLs.

btw, your interior is flawless

I will have the dealership do it for me next Saturday. Any idea on the price of the service? Well, I had no issues with tranny in Audi but I have spend around $9k in other maintenance in past 2.5 years. I still love my Audi but I am done maintaining it. Time to give my new TL some heart Thanks, I will post some exterior pics of my baby once the weather clears up in Chicago. It is black on black with OEM chrome rims. Didin't like the rims on the picture right before I bought the car but they look awesome in person. I am so in love with this car!

Nice, a fellow Midwesterner! haha. I'm actually from Lake Geneva but up in Milwaukee for college. I'm not sure how much the dealership would charge but if you have the tools its honestly not that hard to do. Basically have to jack the car up put it on jack stands and remove the filler and drain bolts. If you do have the dealership do it make sure they DO NOT perform a flush when changing the tranny fluid, only a drain and fill. I've witness what the flush can do to a tranny as my friends civic is slipping horribly now ever since the flush.

My TL is black on black also I need to change out the lower ball joints and tie rods then I want to get a aspec lip kit and lower it but it'll be costly tho...
