New battery but dead after standing for a week?

All and any help is appreciated the problem is that i bought a new yellow top battery about maybe 4 months ago and i bought a dd and my 07 tis has been in the garage for about a week and when i went to unlock the doors nothing happens so jumped my car and it was ok and then the next day the battery was good in the morning but i didnt start the car just unlocked the car to see and then around this time i was about to take the car out the battery is dead again. Do you guys think its a bad battery or is it something with the car that eats the battery while standing....also now im going to start driving my car 2 days a week so is there anything i should do cuz i used to drive everyday like take off the terminals or something...thanks

1) check battery.
2) if battery deemed good, you have a parasitic draw most likely from the HFL.

new HFL or disconnect the HFL and see if the battery continues to misbehave. if it says booting...your HFL is broken. do you use it?

i don't know if it messes with the other features. the new module is expensive. check the online OEM dealer parts stores for pricing.

You will lose navigation voice commands if you unplug the HFL...

Also when I get the new one jus install it? Or would I need to reset it or something of the sort....and that one in the link is for the 07 tl? And im hoping they made the new better?

you can just disconnect it from the plug. i'm pretty sure it's plug and play but don't quote me on that.

Disconnect the HFL system (yes you can just unplug it), that was the cause of my battery drain issue, since it has been disconnected i haven't had a issue

For photos and description, see https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/hfl-module-replacement-06-tl-843512/.

I think my written description in the "Bluetooth fails..." thread at post 221 is better, though. You can look at: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=221.
