New Battery for '08

I need to get a new battery for my 08' 5spd. Suggestions? Is it bad to go to Walmart and purchase one versus going to auto-zone or even Acura? I live in Florida and my current battery is 3-4 years old. It's barely cranking over my car now. Initially I thought it was the corrosion that was all over the positive cable, but after cleaning it pretty well, the battery is still very weak (after going on a road trip this past weekend).

So, suggestions on a new battery? Is it a good idea to put an Acura battery in? What type/amp/etc am I looking for?

You will have better luck searching. There is tons of "what battery should I get" threads that have more than enough info to help ya out.

FYI, Any battery that reaches the TL's requirements will work.
I'm running a walmart battery.

I am replacing my battery today, but I wonder if I need to replace the cable as well? I feel as if the cable has stiffened up a bit compared to the lower portion of the cable. I'm not a car buff so I don't rutinely play under the hood, but I am fairly technical. Is the cable a thick gauge that it should be pretty stiff as is? I'm wondering if I have corrosion on my cable. The battery terminal itself hasn't been collecting the corrosion - only the clamp and where the clamp connects the battery.

What would a replacement cable cost me to do myself? I know the dealer would charge 100s..

If you have a Costco nearby, they have excellent quality batteries for amazing prices. Plus you have the Costco return policy if anything ever happens.

I wouldn't worry about the battery but would definitely get some battery terminal cleaner and battery terminal protector spray before and after installation. The cables are usually fairly thick gauge and rubber degrades so it can get stiff after a while but the stiffness most likely comes from the rubber more so than the copper inside.

Interstate batterys are hard to beat, cost about the same or less than other top of the line batterys & they last.

you live in FL....the heat is what kills batteries. So 3-4 yrs might be the going life span of a battery for you in your area.

first 2 OEM batteries lasted 3 yrs or so each. i now have an interstate battery with much better cranking power than OEM.
