New ballast. Do I need to align headlight focus?

My ballast or igniter is bad so I will replace both. I will need to remove the headlight assembly. In one of the videos, for the installation of a brand new headlight assembly, they align the focus of the light after installation.

Is this last step necessary if I am only replacing the balast/igniter?

It appears that if the headlight assembly is removed, as shown in the FSM graphics below, an adjustment is indicated.

I'm sure you've probably already tried to determine; however, if you can 'easily' (kind of doubt it) get to / remove / install the new components without said removal you may get away without the adjustment?

Thanks, I figured it was needed, but never hurt to ask.
