In need of used 6MT transmission

Long story short, a mechanic messed up my transmission and I am in need of a used replacement. I'm in the Louisville, KY area.

Any idea where to begin or other possible alternatives?

Car is a 2006 6MT.

any Acura 04-06 MT will do (I am not too sure about 07-08 TLS MT). car-part.com is a great place to start.

I don't believe the 07-08 will work. Different bolt pattern, or something rather.

shouldn't the mechanic be looking to source a transmission that he messed up, not you?

Check junk yards.

check out....Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

use the drop down menus to select what you want...ie; model, make, year, what part you need, and location.

once submitted, the results will spit out a list of junk yards close to you with the part that you need

I bought my used TL engine this way.
I didnt call said junk yard and just showed up and said, "hey, I know you have this part. I want to buy it."

as with any junk yards, they had multiple TL engines that I could have chose from.

Yes... that would be nice. I suppose he'd have to fess up to messing it up first, though... I'll probably end up taking this to small claims court.

Unless the mechanic opened the trans case up its unlikely he could have done something to ruin it.

Was it low on fluid?
