Need some help with LW battery install

Basically, I removed the OEM battery and all the plastic pieces around it.

New battery slips against the metal base too much for peace of mind, and I've got it tighten down as much as possible, any more and the plastic holder will break.

I'd like to use the braille bracket for this battery (B2317) and lay it down horizontally on the tray, that will hold it 100% as the bracket wraps around the battery and screws into the base, but then the problem is the negative cable wont reach, it's only ~4-5" long. I know I can buy a longer cable but don't know where to look or which one to get.

Any ideas / suggestions?

A friend of mine can relocate it to the trunk. Any issues with voltage drop through a longer cable (positive)? I assume this would need to run from the trunk back into the engine bay? Not sure I want to go this route, I like the thought of keeping the weight up front for traction.

Sry for the crap cell phone pic:

I've got mine sitting directly on the chassis beam with industrial double stick tape. Kind of ghetto, but it works, and without adding additional weight from mounts, panels, etc. It's been there two years this summer. Still works like a charm (through two Utah winters) and hasn't moved an inch.

Relocating the battery to the trunk is definitely a pain in the ass, but totally worth it. Frees up so much room on the right side of the engine. More room for activities.

Thanks fellas.

Was just in walmart buying oil and saw they sell a bunch of negative cables at different lengths. Just measured and I think a 8-9" will do for it to lie flat. Peace of mind until I decide whether or not to relocate to trunk.

Braille sells mount kits for both vertical or horizontal positioning.

I installed mine on the side in the stock battery location. I thought about moving it by the back seat in a battery box, but I am happy with it for now.

Here is a link that shows the braille mounts.

^^

So purty nice

I have it laying down horizontally now with shorter j-hooks. I might do their bracket, but it's one expensive little bracket.
