Need help please! Altenator or Something else?

Thanks in advance for the assistance. GFs car battery light came on yesterday. Then the vehicle died. Would not start and if so after a jump would sputter and then die quick. We replaced the battery which almost got me home and the battery light was still on. Car died on me again (about 30min). Only way i was able to get home was a jump box attached to the car. Would this be a symptom of an alternator issue?

Yes, that's the first obvious issue. If you can, take the car to an autozone or something and have them do a battery and alternator test.

then you'll need to check the amperage draw on both the battery and alternator.
i dont know the value of the alternator when its off.

I think its current/amperage outout of the alternator is around 0 amps when it's off.

That's a tough call OP. You don't want to waste money on towing, but you also don't want to just start replacing parts without having properly diagnosed them. Some people get around an issue like this by getting an alternator from autozone with a lifetime warranty, installing in car, jumpstarting, then getting it all tested to make sure it's okay, then return duracrap alternator for all your money back and get something else.

If the battery light come on, that means the battery isn't being charged.

Most likely culprit is your alternator.
