Need HELP ASAP: Rear eBrake stuck to Rotor *VIDEO*

First off, I'm just a broke college student. Which is why I'm doing this myself.
I've changed brake pads in the past but never rotors. Prior to tackling this task, I did plenty of search on these boards and used many of the DIY guides available.

My damn rear rotors will NOT come off.
Bought new rotors and pads and did the fronts okay (besides having to drill out those 2 stupid "pointless" screws)

If I pull the rotor out a bit, I can see from behind that "parts" of the "ebrake" assembly is attached into the rotor while other "parts" are still staying intact. Look below for a link of another member who's situation describes EXACTLY what I'm going through.

Here's a pic to show as best as possible when "separated" how some parts are coming off with the rotor:

Few pointers about my situation:

-Yes, the ebrake is off.

-Ran into the issue with those "pointless" screws where they stripped. No impact screwdriver helped so I eventually (after an hour) just drilled them out.

-Yes, I used the 2 screws to "pop" off the rotor from the hub.

-When doing the 2 screws at first, it only came out about half an inch and a lot of "clanking" sounds went off. So I did another search and finally came across the solution to use that hold with the plug to move that little "spiral wheel" down. Still no luck.

-Front's are complete. Now it's just the back with the shoes being STUCK inside the rotor.

Doing my search, I came across this thread and it describes EXACTLY what's going on with my situation. I mean EXACTLY: LINK TO SAME ISSUE

Here's a video, if it does anything visually.

ANY help would gladly be appreciated. My car is on jack stands in my garage and would HATE to have to assemble it back again and have to take it into a mechanic to solve this.

Thanks in advance

Here's the video:

If it helps, I can make a video of me putting in the screws to see what it does or anything else.

Damn, this is killing me SMFH

Need to retract the e-brake shoes by going through the rotor access hole and turning the star wheel. The star wheel turns 2 ways, so just start turning and if the brakes tighten up, turn the opposite direction. Some have brokem parts when trying to remove the rotor without retracting the shoes.

Take at look at pag 19-8

Like he said, Turn the spur until there is no drag on the rotor, it should just pull out.

Thanks for the input and it's my fault, but I forgot to add that I did do this (after finally coming cross searched threads on the boards).

I clicked down until it will not click anymore.

And to make matters worse one of the TENSION PINS fell off. I thought it was a NAIL when I saw it on the ground at first.

Called a friend of mines, different state, he's a mechanic and advised that no in my scenario best to hit it with a hammer on the thickness of the rotor in the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position as this is where the shoes sit and try to create enough vibrations to break off rust and hopefully have the shoes retract.

I guess this is my last hope? Banging the damn thing?

UPDATE****

Was able to FINALLY get the damn thing off. But with doing so, some things ..."fell off." Turns out the LEFT shoe was the one stuck in side.

This is what fell off. And no wonder the "spur/star wheel" wasn't doing much:

Any way I can fix this?
I think I saw somewhere that there's a "hardware kit" that I can get at local parts store? To assemble this back together?

Just with the parts I have?

Just take off the SPINDLE (22mm) and I can reassemble, right?

Thanks in advance

O'Reily Auto parts can order the Parking brake assembly for $16 with all the springs and what not.

But attempting to take off the SPINDLE NUT and it's a PAIN to take off.

BTW it's NOT 22mm as the diagram shows. Found this out the hard way.

but i dont think you need to remove the hub. Its just two springs that hold the spur in place. take a pic of behind the hub if you can

After MORE search, came across others using a BREAKER BAR to take off the spindle. I couldn't have the option to drive the car to a local spot to loosen it up for me with a gun. So I found my old BORLA exhast pipes in the basement and used that. It worked! lol

But now the nut removed didn't do anything. the wheel bolts and "plate" still there. I need to get BEHIND this to assemble the thing back.

Will take pics in 5 mins.

Also a quick video.

Thanks

I'm not sure HOW to take off that "hub" (with the wheel bolts) but I managed to take off the complete PARKING BRAKE assembly.

This thread seems to be going in so many directions, so could a MOD lock/delete this thread?

Managed to get it done and now have a question about the parking brake being off but I'll make another thread.

Thanks again
