Navigation and Menu Lights Are Out

Noticed my a couple of my navigation/menu lights are out in my 2005 Acura TL. I read a few posts on here and I believe they are individual lights only to be replaced by taking out the radio. However, I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone help or should I just take to a shop???

if you are not mechanically inclined; or have no experience with plastic panels- don't do it. there's a thread around here somewhere if you search, but you should have at least an idea of how to do it or you might snap them.

Taking out the whole center console and parts of each side was easy? I think it's a pain in the ass but have done it so many times I can do it in my sleep.

I have the same issue. I have lights out on the steering wheel, the driver's-side temp control buttons on the center console and one behind the fuel gauge. Searching this forum, I find post-after post about how easy it is, how hard it is, or that the answer is in the forum elsewhere. However, nowhere can I find the answer. Can anyone provide a link to detailed tear-down and install instructions for these lights, including the steering wheel? I have an '05 TL w/Navi.

Thanks

hmm. i've got the exact same issue. and i noticed the same thing with my temperature and emergency lights -- indeterminate periods of time where they turn on and off. then a friend suggested that its not a bulb, or even a fuse, but simply mere loose wiring. i simply made a fist and smashed the plastic area right below the emergency light and all the lights went back on. (non-navi btw). won't hurt to try before taking it apart. gl! i hear its not the most difficult thing to do, but very tedious; and i thought that if i were to change the lights out, i might go for a white light instead of the mellow green

Was at the dealer yesterday for a oil change, asked about replacing the light and to my surprise was told that the whole console/dash would have to be removed. at about $200 labor. Damm, Damm, Damm

Me too me too! Some of my center consoles lights blew out. Another thing that irks me is the shifter light. I mean I can see it on the dashboard and I know the feel of it but still... At night I would like my shifter to be lighted up.

Did you ever find out what caused your bulbs to blow like that? That's crazy what you have to do just to get to a damn bulb.
