Hello all. I've searched for solutions for this but haven't found a solid solution here or via google...

I just picked up a used '07 TL Type S today and love it. One problem, the previous owner set pins on navi/address book and the dealer did not reset them. I got into the admin menu and reset the memory. This then required that I enter the Navigation PIN. I proceeded to lock myself out of that. Now the screen blacks out after several seconds and nothing I do will bring it back. Is there anything I can do short of bringing it to the dealer to fix this? I'm a DIY type of guy and would rather fix this myself than haul my a$$ to the dealer to have them fix it.

 

If you bought it at the dealer- they can call the old owner for the codes- or force a reset-
You should have been given a car with cleared codes, and the security codes for the nav and radio
What does the nav operator book say?

 

I was given codes, but they didn't work - hence the lockout. The car manual is pretty useless. It doesn't give any of the detailed information needed to solve an issue like that. A helm's manual might though.

 

tell the dealer to reset the nav for new customer- at no charge to you
should all have bneen seen on the inspection before sale- especially is acura certified car
