Hey guys,

i have a 2006 tl that i just bought. i was just in the proccess of putting in new led lights on the inside and licence plate. all of a sudden i was installing the light in the mirror above the passengers seat (i believe its called vanity mirror) and the cars electricity shut down. everything turned off and when i tried putting the keys in the ignition to start it, it was locked and my brake wont move either. the head lights still turn on and teh car locks and unlock but nothing else is working..im freaking out can someone please give me an explenation and fix. thanks

 

have you even done the basics: checked fuses?

So the ignition locked up to where it would not turn with the key in? Did you try turning the wheel slighty while turning the key?

The brake pedal won't move?

The ECU nor electricity control these two items, especially the brake pedal. Are you sure the pedal was not just hard from pumping it with the engine off?

 

yeah everything locked up and i tried everything u just said...maybe the break pedal did get hard from pumping it with the engine off i dont know but when it was looser still nothing was working...the headlights turn on and all the electrical works but it wont start and the interior dome and rear dome lights dont turn on when i open the door. i htink the car may have mistaken me for someoen robing the car and the anti theft turned on and wont let me turn it on...i honestly have no idea at this point....do you know nething i could possibly do?

 

Consult your owner's manual. Check fuses #6 and #7 in the under dash fuse box.

 

were would this fuse box we located exactlyyyyy

 

any updates on the TL. i think you need to spend some more time with the new ride
