My car has burned all the oil in the tank. Is it normal on highway drive?
I just bought a 2004 acura tl 6 speed manual at new jersey. And I came to Los Angeles in 2 days. Mostly go with 100 mile in a hour. Sometimes I dropped my speed but never less than 80. After 700 mile my oil drop down to half. I added oil untill ıts full.
When I came to New Mexico we started to race with a z4. Never went below 110. When I came my home I find out there was almost no oil left. Is it my driving or something terrible wrong? I use to have a Honda civic it was burning oil but not that much.
I invest lots of money and its my dream car. I be broke if it's not normal.

Anything is fixable with the right amount of time & money.
You will need to do more research to determine where the oil is going. Are you leaking it or burning it? That is the first thing to look at.

It's burning. I only use it on the highways so it stays still couple days. Never seen any leaks.
Old owner said I was putting oil in it in every three weeks other than its fine. It was the 5th car that I look and I was so sick of driving hours to see a car and came back empty hand. I just bought it. Trust the owner. I guess I get scammed.

Scammed? Doubtful, they told you they were adding oil every couple of weeks. Keep in mind if that owner only drove a couple hundred miles per week, you easily did several weeks worth of driving on your cross-country trek.

Yeah but he told me it's his daily drive and made me sure that I csn make it to California anyway he was right after all.
Has anyone get a quote for engine swap? I wanned to make this car alive again.

Here's a link to what seems like a similar thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...i-start-880025
Might be a good idea to give us a list of all the things you've checked so far.

Burning Brakes
If you're not able to diagnose where the oil is going then I would take it to a shop that you trust. That is not normal at all but hopefully you can fix it without buying a new engine. How many miles are on the car?

If you're burning that much, you should smell it or see it in the exhaust. Check under the passenger wheel at the oil pump for leaks and the vtec solenoid. Take it into vtec and pull over and check for oil. Also look at valve cover.

Agreed. I had to squint on a few occasions.
OP - why so fast? Try driving it within normal speeds and see if it consumes that much oil. At that speed, the engine is working pretty hard. The RPM isn't necessarily all that high, but it would be a relatively high load on the engine. I mean, it should be able to without a problem but at that mileage, the oil consumption in your situation may very well be high engine load for extended times.
And consider simply checking/adding oil when you stop for gas. Adding oil on occasion is much cheaper than a new engine. You'll probably spend the value of the car ($3000+) to get the engine replaced.
