Im glad you got that annoying clunking sounds taken car of. By any chance did you ever make out what what the issue is for #5? I have that same problem and I'm not sure if its with the new trans or not.

I haven't fixed #5 yet as it's pretty rare and very faint when it actually does show up. I just hear it more b/c I haven't had audio in my car for the past few months (yeah...talk about going insane!)

Pretty sure it's the PS o-ring due to pressure/bubbles in the reservoir. The part is all of like $1 and is relatively easy to do I hear. I'm going to call my Acura or Honda dealer and see if they'll fix it. They should right? Since its a TSB or whatever?!

I also notice it when my radio is off when I'm maintaining speed in fifth (auto). Its very noticeable at around 50 and I heard it today driving down the freeway with the radio off. Im not sure if its PS related because I hear it coming from the drivers side and not the passenger where the hose is located. Maybe I just need to go ahead and purchase an exhaust to take my mind off of it.

I hear it on the drivers side also. All the signs point to the o-ring. I'll likely take it to Acura soon (if they'll actually do it for free) or do it myself soon. Cheap part and easy labor.

Problem #2 Rearing It's Head Again...

Hey guys, it's starting to get cold and this morning problem #2 started back up. Louder than ever too lol. I've seen some people say its the PS O-ring and some saying its a bad PS pump. I've got the DIY for the PS O-ring, which seems simple and cheap, but the PS pump DIY looks like it's only seals. ImageK (quoted below) says it's possible I have a bad pump. Is this the DIY fix for the bad pump (aka..fixing all the seals) or do I need to purchase the actual PS pump?

Thanks everyone!

It was resolved after I paid Acura a big chunk of money to get a new one replaced. Wish I had the guts and tools to do it myself.

Here's a DIY for a power steering pump overhaul

Just do the O-ring. Its $.50 and 2-3 minutes of your time. Depending on how much air is getting in, the steering can feel normal or it can be hard.

K. Thanks Matt. I'll give that a whirl and see if it fixes it. I'll see if I can find one at a local parts store or call the Acura dealership.

I'll report back for future reference
