memory seat failure?

I have a 2004 Acura TL and I cannot get my memory seats working. When you turn the cars lights on the backlighting on the buttons light up but the little LED's that it looks like they have do not light up at all. I have checked fuses and they all seem good. Pressing them does nothing, even tried programming and had 0 results. Everytime I get in the car it says Driver 1 detected so it shouldn't be a key issue. Any ideas for what I can check or is this a service issue for the dealership?

since when have you had this issue? Also are you the orignal owner? the wires may have been disconnected to repair something and not reconnected or installed in the wrong manner, shorting it.

well i finally got to the bottom of it somewhat, it was a rogue fuse labeled wiper something where your feet are, popped the right amp fuse in and memory seats worked like a charm for about 10min then blew again so it is going to the dealership, there has got to be a short somewhere im thinking maybe? very odd though I have never taken my door apart or messed with anything

You sent me a PM about your account, and I replied with some questions but have not received a reply from you yet. Do you still want me to comply with your request? Just wondering because you posted this after you sent your PM.

I don't know if this is your problem but I've found that the buttons do not work when the car is in gear. This sounds like a good safety feature. I would not want to be driving and press the button with my wife's setting and have the seat push me into the steering wheel.

Take a look at fuse #20 in the fuse box in the left side of the driver foot well. but if they light up, there might be another problem. i had a blown fuse and replaced it with a 10 amp fuse (originally 7.5) and everything worked and after 3 seconds the memory seats stopped working. Looks like I might have to go to the dealership.

I have the same issue. Been to lazy to bother fixing it. Been like this for about 3 years. I guess I'll get motivated.

I'm having the same problems as well. I read that putting anything higher than 7.5 will result in blowing the fuse.

But once the #20 7.5A fuse is blown you need to replace it with a 10A fuse. See TSB #05-003.
