SO i have a Manual 2005 TL and I recently got a new clutch and I don't know if anyone has ever had this problem before but sometimes my car wont go into gear. I can try to put it into first or reverse but it wont go at all but for some reason even though it wont go into first or reverse, it will allow me to go into third and once it goes into third I'm able to go into first or reverse smoothly.

improper bleeding after clutch install...

 

If your clutch isn't coming back up after pressing it down, then you need to bleed it.. if it is, it might be that your linkage may have been misaligned, or some bolts were not put back in.... it happened to me with my old car... the mechanic forgot to put bolts in...
the good news is he totaled my car while running his own personal errands (without my permission)... and in the end I got to buy my TL!!

 

Most likely your clutch is bleeding. Is it sticking as well?

Have you changed the transmission fluid?
In the mean time, try double clutching to get it into gear when it doesn't.
