Main switch for trunk

The owner's manual for an 05 TL (page 93) says "you cannot open the trunk with the remote transmitter if the trunk main button is turned off."

I turned off the main switch in the glove box and locked the doors, waited 30 seconds and pushed the trunk release on the remote and it openned. I also tried it with the doors unlocked and the trunk still openned. To be sure the main switch was off, I tested using the trunk release on the dash and the trunk did not open.

Anybody get this to work or is the manual wrong?

Thanks

It says the same thing in the 2004 manual on page 85. I checked it out with a 10 minute wait and it still opened the trunk.

I know the manual is wrong but I thought I would check it again, and confirmed it. There is nothing wrong with your car.

I am glad the car does not work the way the manual incorrectly states how the trunk lockout works. I like keeping the trunk lockout enabled so you cannot use the button inside the car to open the trunk, however, the key fob will unlock the trunk.
