Lower control arm and sway bar link replacements

Hello guys, my car is making clunking sounds so I took it to the mechanic, they quoted me 250$ to replace both control arms and I'd buy the piece, this is specifically what they said needed to be done "both lower control arm due to play in bushings- right side is worse then left
front sway bar link is broken driver side- replace both". I want to learn how to fix this myself and want to learn about cars/save money, where is the best place I can learn this because I can't seem to find a lot of good info online. BTW here is the kit I'd be buying with the bushings already in place. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F35 2707740925 THANK YOU GUYS!

IMO, there is a wealth of information, and guidance available to you, both here, and on Youtube, for example. Youtube posters will video-educate you, in almost any mundane to complicated repair task imaginable, from changing out your air filter, to installing a timing belt, or replacing your dash. In addition, most posters will list specific, job related tools, suitable for completing the repair. In addition, many posters will alert you, to which areas may be problematic, and how to avoid those problems. Enjoy

Your link doesn't work. Maybe because it has a space in it. Who knows?

You want to know how to replace the sway bar links? Simple. Get both nuts off, remove link, put new one it. If you heat the nut, and hold the link on the other side with wise grips it will help. You can also get an allen or whatever your sway bar links are using to hold the center, but since you are replacing them anyways I wouldn't care about damaging the boots with wise grips.

For the control arm:

First check if bolt that holds the shock to the control arm if free if you remove the nut. If that bolt is stuck it will make your day a little bit worse. Then before removing it, I would free up the ball joint. Rest should be easy.

If you care about torquing everything to spec find yourself a copy of service manual. There is couple floating around this forum

sway bar end links are super easy....if you can get the bolts off. Literally unbolt and rebolt. Mine were impossible to get off due to age and rust. Tried PB, heat, breaker bars. Finally had to bring to local shop where he fought with them and finally got off. Got parts at Rock Auto.
