Low Idle / Check engine

Ive got just about 4100 miles when i ran into my first mechanical problem.

After pumping 93 Octane from Texaco, i drive down the street and while im driving, i reset the trip comp and the miles for trip A.

After stopping about 4 times at lights, i pull into my jobs parking lot from lunch.

As im slowing down, my idle gets low, my car starts to shake a little.
The shake gets a little worse as the car comes to a stop. I can feel vibration in the steering wheel.
The check engine light then starts to flash at me.

Thinking "WTH?" I drop off my co-workers at the office and take it for another spin around the block. Its still acts the same when i slow down. Check engine light came and went about 4 times before i went back to the parking lot to turn off the car.

I called acura and im bringing it in tomorrow morning for that and some rattle fixes. They said thay have no idea why its acting like this @ this mileage. Hopefully it recorded the error code in the system from the check engine light.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this?

Weird!!

-Steve

Bad gasoline? Maybe. Seems coincidental that you just filled-up and the problem started a few miles down the road.

Unscrew the gas cap and check both the gas cap and the filler tube do not have anything on them that would prevent the gas cap from sealing to the filler tube.

Did you make sure your gas cap is properly tightened? Tighten the gas cap until you hear a minimum of three clicks. (No need to keep tightening after three according to the manual.)

Keep us updated on what caused the issue.

Sure sounds like water in the gas.
When the check engine light flashes, you should not drive the car, the flashing means the problem is bad enough to ruin the catalytic converters.

Well, after i left work yesterday, my car idled so low, it DIED on me!
Now, the check engine light is hard lit. It seems like the car is driving "funny" like the shift pattern is thrown out of wack.
The first thing i did when this prob started happening was tighten the gas cap. (i did that after i dropped off the co-workers and after i took it around the block. Both times didnt help.
I called the dealer and im taking it in in about an hour, so hopefully they can tell me whats wrong soon. He said it should be fine to drive, so i took it to run a few errands lastnight and to work this morning.

Got my car back. They said it was misfiring. He said there was a TSB on that and said it was not very common so not many people knew about it. Wonder if im just unlucky? Regardless, im still on the same tank, and im getting about 20mpg w/ almost the whole tank gone. So far its got about 280 miles and its almost on e, but not enough to get the light to turn on.
