Left HID bulb not working
Left HID bulb not working
My left HID bulb isn't working and the bulb isn't weak or going out.. it's some sort of contact between wiring.. does anyone know how to check the wiring for the HIDs? Pictures would definitely help.. Im limited with tools because i'm in college and i'm driving around in my TL with one eye hahahah details appreciated !
i should also mention that prior to the bulb completely going out.. it was flickering on and off for around a week.. i just couldn't get it fixed since i brought my car up to school and the dealer was booked on services. pictures would be great and highly appreciated.

hey brian have you ever fixed this problem? My left HID has the same problem... it works only if it flicker it a couple times. Some times they switch off Left one works, Right one doesnt, etc. How did you fix the problem? replace the ballast?
these cars have very good ballasts & HID systems..... never really read about anybodys breaking.. one dude's caught on fire, that sucked
my biggest fear is malfunctioning.. because all of us with cleared/blacked headlights or angel eyes, or high temp (6000k+) bulbs, run the risk of the dealership saying... TOUGH SHIT
my 08, the left headlight ALWAYS flickers upon ignition, but i think i got a bad bulb, because it started 2 days after i changed my bulbs (Kaxien 8500k) so they are gonna replace the bulb under warranty.. i hope its nothing with my HID system

i was at acura the other day and an RL's headlight exploded...and then the rest of the front end started going up until one of the guysgrabbed and extinguisher. so I dont know how good their systems are. The 2nd week i had the car my hids were flickering and I didnt have anything modified Ive had quite a few headlights swapped out on the car because ballasts were bad. finally they put 06 headlights in and i dont have any probs. i know that the headlights are identical for all the years (04-06) but the production dates are different so whatever they did in 06 that they didnt do in 05 worked.
black the Kelvin rating of the bulbs has nothing to do with the heat put out by it. its 35watts and it doesnt get any hotter than any other HID bulb...and at ignition they are supposed to flicker....the started pulls a lot of power from the electrical system. plus a lot of aftermarket bulbs like to blow out acura ballasts I dont know what they did to pick up on the aftermarket part of it but they did it. Im running 6000K GE bulbs right now and knock on wood I havent had a problem since install.

^^ i am guessing you dont have a relay installed...
Basically, these plug and play fog kits, usually draw 13V from the battery to start, but if you know, car batterys are 12V.... thus, when you turn the lights on, sometimes only one or the other will ignite, especially if the engine is off... your fog lights electrical wiring isnt meant to handle that kind of draw, or the amount of voltage required to ignite the bulbs...
what you need to do is install a RELAY kit (www.mobilehid.com).. trust me, its worth the few $$
