Title is confusing but after a warm/hot day I get in the car and drive off. the first few minutes i notice/hear a knock like a small piece of gravel hits the windshield...or something similar to it. at first i thought the windshield was cracking but its not then i thought it was the dashboard but nothing either....

has anyone experience this???

 

Mine does this from time to time. Especially if it sits in the sun all day and I turn the AC on.

I think it's just temperature change that does it. Mine will also do it on a cold morning when I turn the heat on for the first time.

 

does your sound like a rock hitting your windshield...i've never notice during the winter time but i sure do during the summer.

 

Yes so much so that the first few times I was looking around for an impact point.

 

^so after awhile i assume that you sorta ignored the issue...is it an issue? or should i live with it?

 

Mine hasn't done it yet this year but it has every previous year. It could be coincidence but I had the windshield replaced over the winter. I wouldn't worry about it. At first I was afraid I was going to end up with a crack because it was so loud and the sound was so sharp but it never happened.
