Knock Sensor - P0320???

So recently i've had a CEL code - P0320 or 0375 i don't remember which. But I got it read and its the Knock sensor.

Now I thought I could have excessive pinging b/c all the engine work i recently got done - new cats, port polish, new valves, cams, etc. but the code came on like 3 weeks after i got all the work done. I talked to the dealer and my mechanic and they both said they see this problem when the knock sensor wire has been detached (from a rat chewing though it or something, but trust me there is no way a rat got in there) So its going to be like $350 for the labor to remove the intake manifold and replace the wire and sensor.

Anyone else have this happen to them?? Any ideas besides what the dealer/mechanic's ideas?

oh and i have reset the CEL twice, and it turns on IMMEDIATELY upon restarting the car (well, in the parking lot rather) which makes me believe it is an electrical issue, not mechanical.

if the sensor is broke or the wire is disconnected you won't be able to stop the CEL. only choice is to get it repaired

I wouldnt say that a rat couldnt have gotten in there, this is a very common problem with the v6 engines, the knock sensor and wire harness is located between the two heads right under the intake manifold, rats like to nestle in there because it is warm and the only thing that they see is the knock sensor and harness. Being a honda tech for a few years i have replaced handfuls, there is even a service news bulletin on this. This may not be your case for the knock sensor dtc, but i wouldnt doubt it!

It still sounds unbelievable to me, but the techs and service advisers were pretty confident that was the problem. So my service adviser just called me and said that the wire was OK, so they're going to replace the sensor and cover it under warranty! I hope thats the last i have to deal with this.

bad news..

Its P0325.

I got the sensor and wire replaced by the dealer under warranty. So I turn on my car and it the CEL come back on right away. AHH soo frustrating. Dealer thinks it could be anything..but leaning towards electrical. But since i recently had alot of work done on my car, its hard to know where to pin point. For now I have my car back, I don't know what to do.

There could be an open or short in the harness between the pcm and the knock sensor, or an open in the wire.

The only thing I could come up w/ in regards to the knock sensor could be found in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=knock+sensor

But since the code is P0375 (Timing reference, high resolution signal B – malfunction Wiring, CKP/RPM/CMP sensor, ECM) I'm not sure if that'll even help.
