Keyless Remote... What's wrong???
Hello fellow Acuraziners,
I can't figure out what happened.
Today I tried opening all doors by pressing the remote unlock twice so that I could put my suit jacket in the back and they wouldn't open.
During lunch I checked the Keyless Entry options on the dash and it was off, it was on the option of driver door only...
Why did this happen? I didn't touch it and it changed like that all of a sudden?
& now I can't put the windows down like I used to when I would press twice and then hold the button down.
Can anyone help?
Thanks guys & girls.

So why don't the windows go down now?
My guess is the remote battery is weak.
It will work for the first key press, but after that there isn't enough juice for the 2nd key press, let alone enough for continuous transmit to get the windows to go down.
Like when your flashlight is dead, you turn it off for a while, and when you turn it back on it'll shine weakly for a second or two before going dead again.
I think driver door only is the default when the car is new; you press it the 2nd time to get the rest of the doors.
A test:
Try your other remote. If it works OK, it's the battery. If not, there's another problem.
Good Luck!
Mike

When you unlock the doors, does the MID say Driver 1 (or 2) detected? If not, you may have unlinked the remote from the car and it reverts to the factory settings. To link the remote, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. It will blink once to show it is linked or twice to show it is unlinked.
If the remote was linked, I don't know what happened but you can reset the settings to your preferences.

I tried the other Remote (Driver 2) and it didn't work either
It actually doesn't open the other doors, just like the other Remote (Driver 1) did before. It only opens the drivers door...
Do I need to link or unlink the remotes?, I'm guessing their linked since it's opening the drivers door, RIGHT?
Linked or unlinked only refers to the seat position memory.
If they open the driver's door, then they are 'keyed' to the car.
If the MID is set on driver only, one press unlocks the driver door, second press unlocks the rest, second press and hold rolls down the windows and opens the sunroof.
If the MID is set on all doors, one press does all doors, second and hold does windows and sunroof.
About half the time, my remote won't work on the 2nd press. I get 'the look' when I'm in the car and my wife is standing outside. Oops.
How long do you wait before the 2nd press? I think it needs to be within a second or so. Or maybe I'm pressing it the second time too quickly?
OK... I'm out of guesses after that.
I hope it's under warranty.

SOMETHING'S WRONG.
I got locked out of the car this morning.
I had to call RoadSide Assistance.
Here's what happened.
I went to get Breakfast at Mc D's, they got my order wrong, like most of these fast food places, I parked the car next to the entrance so I can get my extra hashbrown. I left the car running & luckly I had the window down from when I picked up my food... I come back to the car & the door's locked..
That's weird, I stick my hand inside & open the door...
I get to work & there's a shooping cart right in my favorite place to park, so I get out, car's running, the door closes behind I go & move the cart, I come back to the car &.....
You guessed it, it was locked.
Now my car is running, w/ my breakfast inside & I'm stuck without getting in. My 1st tought was, Sh*t, who am I gonna ask to lend me their car so I can go & pick up the other key. Then I remembered Roadside Assistance.
The guy got here in 30 minute & that's because of early rush hour traffic. He opened the door & that was that.
I already made an appointment w/ the dealer so they can check what it is, I spoke to one of the service consultants & she told me to make an appointment w/ a loaner car cause that sounds like it could take long to find the problem because it was electrical.
So I'm going there on Wednesday.
Isn't this crazy? I can't believe this is happening to the car, oh & now I'm @ lunch so I'm playing around with it & it only happens when the car is running? I open & close the door & the lock mechanism makes a sound & it just closes within seconds. Only happens w/ the car running.
What do you think?
This sucks
Well Boys & Girls,
I got my car back from Acura.
The problem was the Driver Door, locking mechanism (I can't remember the exact part name) the mechanic explained to me that because of it being damaged, it was creating problems with everything else.
Everything is working fine and back to normal, the only thing is that for some reason my battery isn't working as great as it used to, It's sluggish when I'm turning the car on, maybe it's just me and it's time for a new battery.
I also got my passenger rear-view mirror changed, the Service Consultant asked me if there was anything else, I told her that my passenger mirror was skipping when I would hit reverse... So now I got a new one...
Thanks for the replies...
