key fob wearing out
My TL was purchased in May 2005 and my keyfob looks like it is wearing out to the point that the graphics on the fob are worn out. Also I have gad instances wear it seems the batteries wear out to the point wear I have to stand next to the car to open or loack the doors, but then the next day it is working like it was new. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have an 04 and i was wondering if i can change my fob for the new switchable key , i've seen some of the members have changed it but everytime i call a dealer and ask they say i can't do it , maybe i should just ask one of our members and find out !

those key fobs are junk!
Only after a few months of getting our TL we noticed the remotes were showing some wear and tear. I don't understand how they can deteriorate so quickly, I guess all the craftmanship went into the vehicle itself, thank god yeah? I even noticed a reduction in range of the remote. I hope it's a simple swap of the battery. Make sure and handle them remotes like fine china and you should be enjoying them blemish-free for years to come.

I bought my TL used and the fob looked so bad I bought a new one. Over $100 ! It's been a month and new fob is already scratched. They should have used better materials, or maybe made the fob black instead of gray to hide scratches. My Nissan fob is black and with 38k miles on it still looks brand new.
