Issues with Acceleration

Hello all,

So I encountered a strange issue tonight with my 08 TL-S 6MT. Got going from a stop light and decided to open the car up a bit WOT in 2nd; however the car halted at 5500 RPM. I replicated this once more to ensure that was the case then tried WOT in 3rd and it didn’t occur. No issues driving normally, no issues shifting into 2nd, no CEL or any other warning indicator. Doesn’t do this in any other gear it seems. Anyone had an issue similar to this? I would think if it was a misfire it would occur regardless of what gear you’re in and I would assume if it was an issue with 2nd specifically I’d have issues whilst driving normally as well (correct me if I’m wrong). Bit stumped with this one lol

Might be. I have noticed a small oil leak after posting this last night. Imma change my oil this weekend and see if that fixes it; i did read a low oil level can affect VTEC engagement.

That seemed to be the issue; just changed the oil out with full synthetic and everything seems to be fine now. Found out there was a small leak from some lone bolt not far above the oil pan. Think the crush washer on it might need to be replaced.

I probably do baby it a little too often lol I rarely push it past 5k. Perhaps i'll incorporate a little more "spirited" driving into my daily commutes
