3rd Gen AT shifting issue?

Bought a used 08 TL with an AT. Curious if it is normal to feel the transmission downshifting when decelrating. I notice a distinctive gear change when coasting (or braking) at around 35MPH and again around 20MPH. Seems that I can feel the transmission going from 4th gear to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd respectively.

Having bought the car used wondering if this is normal? I can see the tachomoter rising about 200RPM when this happens much like you would expect if it were a manual transmission and you were braking by going through the gears.

For an otherwise smooth shifting and riding car this seems unusual. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Totally normal.

Some find the 2 --> 1 downshift harsh. Seems to me it varies with speed.
