Incorrect trip computer AVG Speed?

When i'm on the highway, on cruise control at 120 km/h, i hit the reset button to check my fuel consumption. After a few second the numbers appear but for some reason my average speed is always about 5km less than what the gauge is showing. So the trip computer would show 109km/h while i'm still at 120 km/h.

Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe its becasue of my winter tires size? I donno...

If thats the case, then why is the gauge showing different than the trip computer? and which one should i trust more?

2004-2006 odometers read a tad faster than what they should and that also goes to the speedometer. When we are doing 160MPH according to the speedo we are only doing around 152-155MPH.

So when going 80MPH indicated it could be as low as 77MPH.

nice... doesn't this mean we're also registering higher mileage on the odometer as well?

hows the tread left on your tires? The difference in circumference between a worn tire and a new tire can affect the speedometer by a couple mph as well.
