Sorry, but I know we have some threads about this same issue, but a lot of those threads are either old or dead.
I don't know too much about cars, but after reading the older threads I can tell that both my banks are running lean. And not enough air is going through my system.
I took it to my friend and the CEL went away, but the messages was stil there. I drive for another 45 min and the CEL came back again. Also, my gas mileage is TERRIBLE. I just filled up on tuesday and I'm 1/4 away from empty. I've driven close to 300 miles so far.
I went to Acura and they told me that this isn't covered by my normal warranty. And my valves probably have to be readjusted. They didn't run a diagnostic or anything, but the guys seemed to have a lot of knowledge about this issue. He gave me a quote of $420 to fix this problem for me.
Can someone tell me what's going on with my car and if that price is fair?
Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken those are lean codes. O2 sensors most likely. I had it done under warranty took them forever to listen to me and replace my o2 sensors. They ended up replacing my injectors, ecu, reprogramming my ecu and finally o2 sensors. If they tell you its not under warranty go to a different dealer.

Your Warranty covers this unless you abused the car
and fouled up the intake someway.
There are an increasing degree of O2 sensors failing these days and there is something wrong with this situation ...
I blame the ethanol.
But if you operate your car normally you need to go to another dealer for Warranty work.
Hogwash is only to clean hogs.

Yea i just did the last measure a valve adjustment last month everything seems to be in sync and now after changing out a Map sensor , purge valve sensor and the Pgm Update. i notice the gas mileage increase and the car felt much better so those are the steps you have to take. 68K on mine and i think i the dealer solve it
I had these same codes after cold starts...took to dealer and after they diagnosed it for an hour and a half they recommended a valve adjustment. I had them do the adjustment and haven't seen the codes since. I had 62000 miles on the car. The engine is noticeably quieter....no ticking noises...and has a smooth idle again.
my car at 174k had both codes come at the same time and it was because of the gas and weather (btw i live in ny and it happened during the snow storm) try changing gas and reset the computer with the obd2 reader or disconnect the battery
Yeah i tried that one two times, with running Fuel Injector Cleaner both times for two tanks fills. No luck
the CEL came back on after 50 miles... FYI does pulling the battery cable actually Erase/reset the error code? I mean it goes away for a little while, but I remember on my wifes 03 VW Diesel Jetta, we needed to actually take it to the dealer ship to have them reset the code.

What is the OEM part # for this 02 sensor? and are those the ones off the primary cat? did you replace both?
