I think my TL is a lemon

I keep getting the salt on the seatbelt problem. Basically when it rains or snows alot, water gets into the back seat area and ruins the seat. If nobody is sitting back there then you can only tell by the salt that gets soaked up and left on the seatbelt as the water diffuses into the material and eventually evaporates. This will be the third time at the dealer for this problem ... Is it a lemon? The car is in ohio but registered in NC. What to do ... How does the lemon law work with leases?

I think you qualify once the dealer makes the third attempt and it fails. Here's a link to an official state brochure on Ohio's lemon law.

http://www.ag.state.oh.us/online_pub...emonlawWEB.pdf

It does indeed apply to leases. Here's the text of the actual law for reference.

You're not the only one to note this particular problem, there are at least two others with a similar problem that I can recall off the top of my head.

Moving to "problems..." but very relevant. Sorry to hear about this issue.

Good luck with the lemon process. It is unfortunate that you are having these problems - I had gone through a lengthy arbitration process to have my FX35 bought back - but was ultimately successful. If you need any help or have questions feel free to PM me and I can answer to the best of my ability.

IMO it seems like a lemon to me. It seems stupid that they cannot fix the problem. Make sure you take lots of pictures.

Also, I am waaaay over the one year thing. The problem is, they started trying to fix it within the first year. I just am not able to notice it until the roads are salted! So now I am at 1.5 yrs and 30k miles! Am I screwed here or what?

i believe there is manufacturer Lemon and state lemon. i believe it's 2yr or 18K (depends on states i guess). you might be ok since you started the service record within the limit but i'm not sure.

worst case ur still under warrantee. they can't deny that.
