I'm hoping some of you guys can give me some inputs. I have an 05 TL with auto. Recently I have been smelling oil when I park my car. I checked under the hood to see if I can see any oil spillage from the cap and checked my oil filter for any leaks. I cant seem to find anything. Where else should I check? I'm also starting to smell oil in my cabin which seems to be coming from the vents. Help!

 

Check your valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and oil drain plug. Do you see any oil on the engine itself at all?

I did all that. I didnt find any oil seeping out or anything. Wierd. Hoping the smell will just go away. The smell isnt as strong as when I first started to notice it. I hope it nothing.

 

Check your coolant level. You may be smelling coolant.. describe the smell in detail if you can.

 

have you had the PS hose recall done (if applicable to your vin)
Or the o ring on the ps pump leaks too

Look for more than just engine oil if you cant say for sure the type of oil being burned
