I no longer have the ACURA logo?!

About a week ago, I was involved in a wreck. The damage to my car was a slightly bent fender, as well as front bumper damage. I took it to a body shop and picked it up yesterday. First things first was to look at the paint because my car is WDP and it looked great! They got everything looking like it did before but I noticed a detail later on in the day that sort of took me by storm. I no longer have the ACURA logo on the front bumper?! It is clearly an Acura TL front bumper, with all of the details, but no ACURA imprint like my original. Is this odd or what, and does anyone else who replaced their front bumper had this happen?

Could be? I wish that they had used an OEM bumper instead. The work looks good though. I wonder how much more an OEM is than and aftermarket.

I'm not sure about the cost, but many bodyshops use non-oem parts where they can.

You've got to specify at the time of the estimate that you want all factory parts.

its not the body shop that makes that call...it was your insurance company....i would call your insurance company and tell them you want an oem part, and that your not paying them to cut corners....i know its common practice to use aftermarket body panels and such, but i would allow it on my cars....

Im a auto insurance appraiser and I live in cali. So if your in a different state this may not apply to you. If your car is in a accident and needs to be fixed. By law the insurance company must pay for OEM parts if your car is a year old or is under 12K miles. I dont have any of your information or your insurance companies info so i cant make any conclusions. Hope this helps. But ya I would get irritated if they replaced the front bumper with an aftermarket one.

If you get a chance, please post a pic. I'm curious to see what it looks like.

I live in Alabama, and my insurance company is with Progressive. I have both collision and comprehensive. I had 47,800 miles on my 2005 TL during time of the wreck. The front bumper is exactly like the original minus the ACURA logo. True enthusiasts would notice, and I am worried about the trade-in value as well.
