Just bought a 2004 TL and the top compartment door (the 1st of the 2 compartments that are directly under the tape deck) rattles constatnly. It only stops rattling when I open the door and let it stay open. I tried using small cushions; the kind you put under chairs legs to protect hardwood floors, but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

 

Welcome to the rattle bucket.. my suggestion.. replace them with a carputer or search "rattles" in problem & fixes section or google "third generation TL" rattle center console acurazine.

 

DUDE!!! i just got a TL last monday and had the same exact problem LOL! its the top compartment box just under the radio. i literally just fixed that problem 5 mins ago hahaha. all u have to do is stick a thick kitchen sponge thruogh the crack between the door and the roof of the compartment so that the sponge will be pushing between the roof and the bottom of the radio. problem solved. it was my dad's idea and its a total hap assed arabic 99 cent rig up, but it works flawlessly
