I broke a sensor

I was working on my power steering pump and doing so I disconnected the sensor right above it. I accidentally broke a part that the sensor was connected too (the white gear thing). Can anyone tell me what sensor it is?

I tried to attach a picture but I'm on my phone and it said the picture was too big. But yes it is attached to the intake manifold. It is like right above the power stesteering pump. It is connected by two Allen (hex) bolts.

That's actually funny you mention that. I was thinking of getting gloves too. I had to go to work right after I was done, I work as a waiter/bartender and I was having a hard time cleaning themy up

But one more question. Can I just put the sensor back on or do I have to make sure the slot on the sensor goes in on the slot? (Sorry can't really explain it, but if you have done it you would probably know what I'm talking about)

I'm planning on doing a rebuild next week, and out of curiosity - how did you break it? I have about 170k on the TL so I imagine the plastic is quite brittle on mine...

I have 170k on mine too. But it was just a dumb mistake, i disconnected the front hose on the power steering and didn't do the top one. So I placed the power steering pump on top of the engine (not realizing that it was sitting on top of the senor) and I tried to take the hose off and it broke.

+1

They last forever. Takes a long time to wear out a pair and a box of 100 is only $8-10 on amazon.
