Happened yesterday, and Im just trying to figure out if Ill get the car back, or its totaled. Its a 2005, fully loaded, with nav., 41k miles. Some people have told me that Its totaled, definitely, and some people say, yah right, never. Im not sure. You cant tell by this picture, but the side curtain airbags and the passenger side airbag from the chair came out. When the curtain airbag came out, it ripped my roof lining. There are scratches all the way down the side of the car as well. Educated guesses welcome!

 

Or at least tell me your opinion... Totaled or not?

wow what the hell happened? The car may be totaled. The damage looks like it could excceed 10K with all the airbags and damage to the front area, esp the axle being broken as it is all bent up and bushed back into the fender. My guess is that it will be totaled. If you think it may be not, hit the hood and passenger door a few times and add to the repair bill, though it may be considered insurance fraud.

 

I was at the mall, and some dumb a$$ b^$% pulled out in front of me to make a left turn out of the mall that was on my right, and I was coming towards her. I was goin about 40 before I hit the brakes, and shes damn lucky I swerved a little so I didnt T-bone her, she would have been dead. She then had the nerve to tell her insurance that she doesnt feel it was her fault because, A, I was "speeding", and B, she had a blind spot. I have news for her, having a blind spot doesnt give her the gosh damn right away, and dont blame your incompetencies on my "speeding", when I clearly couldnt have been speeding cause of the traffic in the area. Shes a horrible driver, she needs to own up to it, stop ruining peoples cars and take the damn public transportation wherever she needs to go. The end. Sometimes I feel I should've T-boned her ... Totally kidding. At any rate. Thats what happened. And as much as I want my car back, Im most certainly not ready to deal with all the aftermath of this accident. (i.e the crap that starts going wrong with the car and will never be the same again). I wish there was a way to make sure it will be totaled, as much as I loved that car.

 

She can tell her insurance company whatever she wants, what did the police have to say (more importantly write) about it. Sounds like her insurance will be liable to pay for all the damages. Just go to the best shop in your area and wait for it to get fixed. I totaled out my A4 in June (deer/tree-16 grand + in damages), that's why i'm in the TL now. Good luck, I doubt it's totaled.

 

go to the best shop around and get quotes from them. This will either ensure that the car is totaled or that the car is close to the way it was before the accident and you will not have any problems.
