How many amps do HID's pull ???

Threw some hid's in my fog's worked for a day or 2 and blew the 10 amp fuse, So I put a 15 amp and it blew that . Anyone know how many amps they pull? and is that going to be dangerous to put a big fuse in there if its only supposed to take a 10 amp? Thanks

Is that what you had to do ? you don't think I could just put a 20 or 30 amp fuse in and be ok?

no, this is not what i have done. as I dont have lower fogs.

But it is a common fix to add a relay to the HID bulbs in your fogs.
this way, you're not putting in a larger fuse

Always use a harness for HIDs. Better safe than sorry. $15 is not a lot to pay for the peace of mind. With that said, you can usually get away with a 15A fuse in a harness---the wiring is thick enough to handle the power.
Remember, fuses protect your wiring, not your devices. You always want the lowest number rating possible without it blowing.
