how does the transmission work

last night my lower balljoint popped out while i was driving, leading to the cv axle being torn from the boot.this has lead to me trying to figure out how the trans works in relation to the cv axle and what gives it power. there isnt a differential so im pretty confused how the car is being driven. is it directly from the trans? because that seems pretty stupid. even if its fwd the wheels are not travelling the same speed at all times. when i jack my car up an spin one side the other turns the opposite like a differential but there isnt a diff. can someone explain how the drivetrain work because i cannot find anything anywhere that explains this. up until this point i just figured all cars had diffs regardless of the drivetrain. how is the power directly from the trans, and if it is directly from the trans, is disconnecting a cv axle at high speeds going to destroy the trans becauss of a lack of a diff and one axle still having load and inertia while the other has no load or inertia. currently getting a new cv axle on and changing ball joints, but i cannot wrap my head around how this transmission an drivetrain work

The differential is inside the transmission housing.
