How can I keep DRL on along with low beams?

Hey guys,

i wanted to ask if anyone knows how to keep the DRLs (the lights that’s on- on headlights when the light switch is off) on with low beam HIDs. When I turn on the low beams the DRLs are shut off. Seems like you can only keep one of em on at a time.

I just bought an amber orange 9005 bulb that I think would look cool with the low beam on and contrasting with orange direction lights.

Is it possible?

thanks a lot

I'm sure there are instructions buried in old posts on here somewhere. Just be aware that if you have those on at night, you will probably be blinding oncoming traffic. A DRL is meant to have a similar distribution pattern as your high beams, just lower light output.

Thanks for the input.

i did went through the forum- couldn’t find much. the bulb is lower watt already and I’ll try using the metal piece that covers the front of the bulb, so wouldn’t blind anybody.

That piece may help some, but the fact is the reflector housing itself is not designed to keep the beam pattern from blinding oncoming drivers. If you want to get a feel for it, just leave the DRLs on at night and go stand 30-50ft in front of the car at night and see how much glare you get.

This..

That 'piece' is called a glare shield but it's not really going to do much, YMMV though, we can only advise you not do it but it's your car so do what you want.

went ahead and fixed them in. Guys it’s really not that blinding. They look nice and wouldn’t blind the oncoming traffic. P.S.Also these are fitted without the decoders. No light on dash.

Don’t know why acura made it more difficult by putting those screws in the DRL cavity. Took so much work for something simple. Also I called a shop- the guy said he’ll take the bumper off- quoted me $100 above- don’t remember.

But I just got the bulb in to get the feel. But they still go off once I get the low beams on. Plus the hid fogs don’t go on either while the DRL setting is on.

I saw this online:

think it’ll work? Thx
