I get a high wind up type noise when I press on the gas, but when I take my foot off, it stops...but then when I press, even lightly, I get a kind of high pitched sound...anybody experience this?

 

do you have any aftermarket parts?

 

Same thing for me it's almost like a whistle sound like a turbo sound mixed with a fan sound (like the one when you set the fan to your air conditionning to max), almost a vaccum sound. Acura says it's normal but i know it's not and i m going to test another Tl next time to be sure.

 

yeah the big quetion would be do you have headers by chance?And does the sound only come when you have the AC on ..................

 

i know i dont have the same car, but i get that too, when i press stomp on the gas or just drive it a little harder then usual i get this high pitch whistling sound. ive asked around, but no one knows

 

I get whistling noise too. There has been some threads talking about this too. I think its normal but it shouldnt be. My moms Honda Pilot does the same thing. Sounds like a supercharger.

 

Thanks for the responses...I guess it might be normal, but like whatjones911 stated...it shouldn't be. Stinks cuz it's kinda annoying.

I had the same problem with my 2005 TL when I bought it, I took my car to the dealer and they fixed it, other members have also had the same problem, its a fairly common problem and I don't know why Acura does not come up with a TSB to address this issue. i only got that sound after i installed an cai....

 

No whistle noise until I installed the AEM CAI. I love that whistle as it kinds of sound of a blow off valve. It is more like a hiss than a whistle though.
