High Beam Relays?
High Beam Relays?
Oh great and all-knowing Azine members, I come to you on bended knee to in hopes of, perhaps by chance, you can share a morsel of your vast knowledge and insight
I have an 06 TL and I also have an issue with the drivers headlight/wiring. The HID and the fog light work great but when flipping the high beam on, the drivers side doesn't respond (the HID works but the flap shield won't flip down). The passenger side works flawlessly. If my memory hasn't failed me, there are two wires that run to the connector (for the high beam solenoid) on the housing. A white/yellow/2 gray dots and a black. Continuity between the black and chassis ground is present. There is no voltage on the white/yellow wire. Does anyone know where this wire eventually leads to? I checked all the fuses I could think of and the few relays under the hood and all checks out fine. A "Mitchell's" repair guide claims there is a "relay control box" in the fuse box on the left rear of the engine bay. I had a spare fuse box from a nearly identical model that I tore apart (so I wouldn't have to render my car useless) looking for more relays and found a few more but they were soldered to the metal conductors beneath the circuit board. Nothing readily accessible or user serviceable. Any insight?

Anyone? Perhaps I over-estimated you guys...lol Or maybe I should have used a more down-to-earth intro like "HELP! my f*#king lights don't work!"
Anyways, I assume there are more relays than what I found under the hood. Where does one start looking for them? Does anyone know how the wiring runs (from the socket for the high beam)? Does one relay control both headlights or do they each have their own?

This thread is in the "Problems & Fixes" section. I had a problem. Now I have a fix. It was all much simpler than I could imagine... The issue was with a wire being chopped beneath the left headlight. I had taken the headlight off for another reason and happened to see the wire loom was separated in a particular area. Digging around in there I found the wire for the high beam had been pinched to the point that it had separated. A simple butt-splice fixed that issue. I knew I could count on you guys
