HID turns off after a while??

I purchased a set a 10k HIDS for both low beams and fogs on my TLS. After about 2 months i started to notice that my passenger side light goes out at times. I know it is not recommended to turn on and off the HID repeatedly but whenever i see it go out i turn the switch off then on then the light turns back on, but then after a while it turns back off. Before doing the whole PITA process of removing bumper and headlight does anyone have any idea what may be the problem. I do have warranty on the HID but i just would like to know if anyone else had this problem??

Sounds like a bad ballast, or bad connection... possibly bad bulb lol... swap ballasts/bulbs try to isolate the problem. Check all connections and make sure there's no moisture or anything.

its going to be hard to test it because it turns on no problem it just at times it turns off after a while so i dont really no how long i would have to wait to see if it would turn off or not.

I would switch back to the original bulbs if they're still working.

Oh, mine did the same but now have stablized. I think your 10k bulbs are burning out the ballast. One of my bulbs would flicker and then die out. If it's just an ignitor, then it's cheap, but if it's a ballast, then that'll cost some money. Do you know how many watts the 10k bulbs are rated at?

So you install some bulbs and a couple of months later you start having problems. Where should we start?

Kind of obvious don't you think.

^ lol seriously

OP, we're not telling you to throw your new bulbs out and go OEM, FOREVER.

For the sake of troubleshooting and isolation just go back to the old bulbs. If they work longer than your new bulbs then you have your answer.

off topic, but i hate it when users refuse to follow simple troubleshooting steps (i work in IT).

Did you just buy new bulbs or what? From where? What brand? Size?

As I stated in the first post before doing the whole process I would just like to see if anyone else had this problem. Of course Im going to test it out to see if the problem still occurs, but I just wanted to get a head start in finding the problem, sorry if I'm wrong for that.

Pretty sure they're just a cheap quality bulb. Switch back to your OEM for a while and see if they problems still occurs. If it does. it's a ballast, if the problem has been fixed, it was your bulbs.

This is common with cheap bulbs. Over the years I've seen it all with hids. Easiest way to confirm this is just take the bulbs and swap sides and watch the problem follow the bulb. I wouldn't even go through that cuz I know 99% your problem is a bad bulb.

And can you even see with 10k bulbs? Hope you weren't one of those who thought higher K meant brighter.
