HID bulb stopped working

The other day when I started my car and turned the lights on I realized that my driver side hid is not working. This is the first time I had thus problem. Is it def the bulb. How do I go about this. Can anyone tell me a good new set of bulbs to buy. Heard there a bitch to Change as well.

i dont think is the bulb, i had a similar problem too. i ended up buying a new ballast, try switching the bulbs first from one side to another, and then switch the ballast and the ignition cable, it takes time and a some work to do it yourself, you have to remove the entire front bumper and then the headlights. i remove my like 4 times b4 i could fix the my light, it was a really pain in the ass. here is how a i learn to remove the bumper.

^ I know you have to remove the front bumper to replace the bulbs, but are you sure you also have to remove the headlights??

I just got some new Philips 85122+ bulbs which will install whenever I get enough time.

Well both the low beam and high beam on the drivers side don't work. Is it one bulb for low and high? If not maybe it is the ballast???

Yes the low and high beam is just one bulb. There is a shutter that opens which makes the high beam activate.

oh wow! Same thing is happening to me right now.

I just spent a good 8 hours diagnosing the problem.

Basically, at first, I thought my HID bulb went out and then I switched it to my passenger side (working on) and it wasn't it. bulbs were fine. You can remove the cover under your tire to get to the cover to remove the HID bulb. Just did it a few times actually.

Tried everything and nothing seemed to work for me. I'm hoping it's not an expensive fix

EDIT----

The fuse was also blown. I replaced it and it did not fix the problem. haha it was the 15A one

Thanks all!!! Finally fixed it this weekend. It was the bulb. Took the bumper off and switched it out with a 6$ bulb on eBay. I wasn't spending 100$ on a bulb. Anyhow. After the change light fired right up. But being I cheaped out so bad I notice if I turn the lights off after they been on a while and turn them back on the 6$ bulb won't come on. You have to wait a minute before u turn it back on and it goes right back on. Guess that's the difference between a shit bulb and a good bulb.

I'm planning either buying clear lens, having them cleared, or doing them myself. When I do that I will swap out both bulbs with a good set of bulbs so I won't have to deal with any more problems.

Anyone looking to sell any cleared out 04 TL headlights or trade for my stock lights and some.... Let me know. Thanks again for all your help.

I posted another thread in 3G problems and fixes section with pics of my headlights. If anyone can explain to me my other problem I would appreciate it!!!
