I just bought a used switchblade key to do a DIY mod for my 04 TL like in this post: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/diy-guide-tl-switchblade-key-60-photos-671520/
The listing on ebay said the key was for a TSX but I wasn't sure if it really was (I didn't think the TSX's came with the switchblade?) and said that it should work for the TL's. I have the key to switch into the fob but I'm having problems getting the keyless entry to work. When I try to program it into my car it won't program in. The other, separate fob works and the red light turns on when I press the lock and unlock on the switchblade so I'm not sure what the problem is. Is the keyless remote not compatable with the older models? Would I have to get a older fob and swich the board into the newer one? Or could it be just the batteries are getting weak? This was on the back of the fob I don't know if it makes a difference:

its for a canadian TSX... I think that may be the issue.

 

Ooo so I guess that it won't work for my American TL then?
