I have a really annoying rattle that seems to be coming from the gearbox area. I can't figure out what's causing it. Has anyone else had the same problem as my description? If anyone can shed some light I'd appreciate it, thanks.

 

try pressing on the silver trim that goes around the shifter near the seat heater buttons. Does it stop? If yes, that's a very common rattle with an easy fix. all you have to do is pry up on the silver trim and it'll pop up. Put some felt under the edges and press the trim back down!

I have the same rattle in a 04 tl. check out the upper compartment in front of the shifter.
