Help - how to remove the stopper screw on the door panel?
My 2008 TL has rattle from day one I got it. One of the annoying one comes from the passenger door. The dealer is not willing to do anything.
I tried to open the door panel and had a difficult time to remove the stopper screw (on the lower -door open side, which is convered with a rubber cover).
Any one has any experince?
Charles

To answer your question...
From the side of the rubber stop, take a slotted screwdriver and place it between the metal part of the stop and the door and pry up slightly as you use a phillips screwdriver to turn the screw.
The pressure you put against the stop will stop it from turning with the screw.
I've taken my door panel off at least 5 times and this trick works like a charm every time.

Thanks Trew.
I want to replace the whole stopper, including the philips screw, the part stick into the door (how to get this part out out the door- just pull hard?). I just try to open the door partially from below. I had no idea and am not confident to open the entire door. Maybe you can give some detailed description on how to open the door step by step. I am afried of breaking parts? Like the stopper I tried to but some demage I have to replace it.

Those things suck. I wrestled with one for an hour. I'm convinced the dealer tech over tightened it after doing a window regulator under warranty.
Once it's out and you do replace the insert (part in the door) DO NOT tighten the stopper any more than just snug or else you will risk "spinning" the insert and rounding off it's corners. If you round them then you are in trouble all over again.

I'm waiting for my replacement insert/stud from acuraoemparts. After taking that panel off several times I've had to resort to wedging a putty knife in there to keep the base from turning. I need to pull the panel again so figured I'd replace that piece.

Just stick some glue on it and be careful when you screw it in. That insert may be difficult to get out and replace. We use threaded insets at work that require a "puller". Like a pop rivet gun, it just pulls the insert up by the threads and it expands on the other side of the door skin pulling it tight. If its not pulled tight enough, it'll spin when you put a screw in it. I dripped some epoxy around mine on my driver door. I've had my panel off a couple of times since then (Moleskin ordeal). Just have to be careful putting the screw in. Maybe I'm wrong and it's not that type of insert. I hope. Let us know.
