Help with Heated Seat Switch - replace just the bulb? and how do i access
I did some research this weekend regarding a burned out light behind the driver side heated seat switch.
I have a type S so this is red. It is the illumination portion as the indicator lights for hi and lo still illuminate.
Question: can I replace just the bulb? or do i have to purchase a new switch?
2nd. I found a how to access on the site but the instruction seems to indicate that after removing the trim surrounding the gear selector that the plastic / carbon fiber look part is held by 6 clips. Can anyone confirm this?
Has anyone accessed this switch that can provide some guidence on how to replace?
Thanks

You can buy just the single bulb.
It's easy to replace the bulb; just twist the bulb out and twist the new one in.
The hard part is getting to the actual bulb.
You have to remove the two silver trim pieces that run along your center console. Then remove some screws and slide the console backwards, which will reveal your heat switches.
The bulbs are under a sticker you have to remove.
I did this a couple months ago.
The hardest part for me was removing the silver trim pieces.
It's not as hard as replacing the steering wheel bulbs though lol

Do you know the part number for the bulb off hand? You have a type S as well, does it use a standard bulb through a red filter versus a red bulb?
the silver pieces seem to be held by just clips that can be pulled off and then for screws holding the center console from sliding does that sound right?
Did you use a KTC tool mentioned?

This is the part number for the bulb you have to order: 35852-SEP-A11
The silver pieces are help by clips, yes.
All I did was pry it off starting at the bottom with a butter knife or flathead screwdriver (can't remember).
The reason why it was difficult for me to remove the trim was because I'm a wuss at taking things apart. Sure, I could use all my strength and rip out the trim in 10 seconds, but I'm afraid if I use too much force I will break the clips.
And yes, just remove the trim, which will reveal the screws, then remove the screws and slide the console compartment back to reveal the heated seat switches.
