HELP!!!!!!!!! Headlights don't work!
Ok guys I have screwed up big time
I attempted to mod my fog lights where they can be used as DRL's using the stock switch. Didn't work, so in the process of trying to figure out if I got some wires backwards I shorted something out. Now my parking lights come on when I turn the car on, and turn off when I switch the car off. But my headlights/fog lights do not work at all, no matter the position of the switch. My brake lights do still work as well as signals and hazards. I have checked all fuses and no blown fuses, and I even reset the ECU. Still nothing. I put everything back to the way it was as far as the fog light relay etc. My headlights and everything DID work while the fog light relay was unattached, I just some how shorted something out when I attempted to redo it today. Some one please help. I work until 8 PM tomorrow and I need headlights to get home!

Here is the circuit diagram for the headlights... If neither headlights work, then I don't think it's the fuse, because each side has it's own fuse. If it's the fuse before the relay, your parking lights shouldn't work... Sounds like your relay isn't working... Did you bend the pins when reconnecting it? What I would do, is take a voltmeter, and start probing each part of the circuit and find out where your circuit is failing...
I probed every wire on the fog circuit diagram when I was attempting to mod them and I never could get them to fire, but this was when my headlights were still working. Then somehow I shorted something out and my parking lights turned on and stay on, and I get nothing out of my headlights when I turn my switch on and off. Where is the relay for the headlights? I don't think I ever had it out/off to bend the pins?

Judging by the way the circuit diagram is labeled, it looks like the three relays are contained in a single unit called the "Relay Control Module". I'd check for you, but I carpooled with the wife today, so she has the TL.... I'll see if I can find anything in my sevice manual...
I noticed that as well.. I looked in the fuse box under the hood and couldn't find anything.. maybe it's in the fog light relay box? I have no clue. Idk what I'm gonna do to get home for work. Today has been the shittiest day ever, I'm trying to keep a smile on. The Acura dealer mentioned that I probably melted a wire and that's why my parking lights are staying on.. but I only touched wires together for not even a second and that's when it happened. AVS, anything you can find and share would be GREATLY appreciated it. I do not even wanna think about paying the Acura dealer that is 45 min away $99 just to tell me what the problem is. It's GOTTA be the relay, the problem is just finding it. Oh yeah and on top of all this, one of my rear shocks is blown now lol woot wooooooooooooot! It just keeps getting better and better!
service manual says the Relay Control Module is built-into the FuseBox, so I think that means if the Relay Control Module is shot, you have to replace the whole fuse box.. Is your SES light on? Cuz there is a whole section on troubleshooting DTC codes relating to headlight circuit failure...
How far do you have to drive? I've seen people drive at night on the shoulder wiht their flashers on...
I'll see if I can find something on the harness for the fusebox to see if I can isolate the relay thta may be in question...

It's about 20 minute drive but hopefully I can get off at 7 30 so I'll be home right at dark.. my Acura dealer is showing nothing for a "relay control module" but now that you have said that, would this be what I need to replace? http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...RELAY_BOX_ASSY. Is this the entire fuse box under the hood? And my indicator light is on in the dash showing that my lights are on if that's what SES means.I don't have time to do the input test right now but I will when I get home this evening. But what could have caused my relay control module to go bad?
I don't know the part numbers, so I can't be sure, but if that's the "Underhood-Fuse/Relay Box", that's what you want... Personally, I think you just have a short to ground somewhere, which is preventing your relays from firing...
Oh, and by SES, I meant your "Check Engine Light", as that should illuminate whenever the engine computer has a trouble code stored. All the trouble-shooting stuff for the Relay Control Codes look to require a "Honda Diagnostic System" to connect to the computer, becuase it talks about menus and crap on the Diagnostic scanner... Look at the Circuit Diagram I posted earlier... I think you have a short to ground on one of the wires, which could explain a lot... If the relay control on the headlights is shorted to ground, it won't trigger, making your headlights dead... At the same time, if a wire on the parking light circuit is shorted to ground AFTER the relay, it may cause the relay to be stuck closed, making your parking lights always on....
And no problem about the help... Whenever I come to the forums seeking help, I know I would appreciate help from others, that's why I try to offer any help I can....

Put your multimeter on "continuity". Then touch one probe to the wire in question, and the other probe to ground... If it beeps, or otherwise tell you that you have continuity, then the wire you are touching is connected to ground... If that wire isn't supposed to be grounded, then you have a short. Trying to find the actual short could be trickier... Try to see if the wire is in close proximity to a source of ground, and check to see if the insulation is ok, or if it is melted at that location...
Ah yes! Ok man
I'm gonna do it as soon as I get home! I'll be in touch!!
I'm excited, and hopeful, that this is gonna work and I'm just grounded out somewhere. Pray for meee

So I checked the wires coming out of the fuse box that power the headlights, while the ignition is turned on and headlight switch is on, and they have no power coming out. So this could mean only one thing, that it is the control module relay. I'm gonna call Honda since it's closer and see if they have the fuse box..
Was hoping I wouldn't have to replace it but that's the only conclusion I've come up with. Here are a few pictures I took while I had it disassembled. Here is a picture of the wires (headlight/etc) that go into the relay control module, through the bottom of the fuse box.
Uploaded with ImageShack.usHere is a picture of the plug on the bottom of the fuse box, I'm assuming going to the relay control module.

Here's a more complete diagram of the headlight circuit, in case you want to see how the switches connect to it...
I think you should perform the Input Test as described earlier, because the outputs of the control module doesn't tell you anything. It's the inputs that will dictate if the control module is dead.

Well I ended up taking my car to the Acura dealer and I have a blown head light switch.. I feel like a dumbass for not even checking that. Avs, I can't thank you enough for how much help you have given me. You gave me hope when I thought there was none
