Help! Car will not / Won't start

Okay this is a super odd problem for me and I feel helpless....

I consider myself pretty car savvy and a bit of a mechanic but this car baffles me....

I am not sure what to do now....

I have an 05 TL.

Car has run fine all this time and for some reason last night, it decided not to start.

The battery is in perfect condition, even tried to jump it to make sure. Everything electrically works fine.

When I turn the key, NOTHING happens. No clicks, no buzzes, NOTHING!. It's like the thing is not connected the starter at all.

I'm 100% sure it's not the battery.

I'm 100% sure it's not the starter, I did the old "rocking the car in park trick" a few times to make sure it wasn't dead spot.

What I did notice:

1) When I turn the key, the anti-theft light on the radio flashes once....

2) When I pull the key out, the green key code light flashes 5-6 times....

I've checked all my fuses, etc.... and still have no idea of what to do...

I don't have an extra key either because it was broken a few years back....

Could it be:

A) bad/broken key?

b) something with the anti-theft system?

C) something else I'm overlooking?

Before I go to the local Acura Dealer and spend too much money, what should I look for?

I was just thinking of having another key made anyways, should I try that first?

All advice is appreciated...

When I originally bought the car from the dealer (it was used), they did not have it. I fought for them to get me one but they would not provide it to me.

Hmmmm I'm wondering if this may be a ground issue. Are your battery cables good?

Funny you mention this. I began having the same problem yesterday. Tried to start it after lunch, wouldn't start. Tried a few more times, finally got it to start. Couldn't get it to start to go home. Replaced the battery hoping that would fix it. No luck. Now have to get it towed and diagnosed. I am hoping it is nothing major.

Let me know what they find out with yours.

Please keep me posted on this as well. I am having the exact same problem. I came here to create a post for this and noticed this thread.

Same problem...I put in the key, turn, nothing... I do this 5-6 times and eventually it was worked so far. Please let me know what you find out.

Thanks

I recall people suggesting that you remove all other automobile keys from your key ring. Might try that. The theory is that the security chip in other keys might interfere with the computer being able to validate your security chip in your TL key.

just to add; it's weird a starter would just seize up and go bad that quick....no dead spots or nothing ; just broken

I had the same issue 2 months ago. The starter was the last thing on my mind. Low and behold, it was the starter after all. Thank God mine was still on the Acura Certified Warrenty.....buy around 200 miles left on it. I only had 52K on her as well....that seemed pretty low for a starter to go out. Jordan and Bedrew, how many miles do you have on the car?

I'm having the same problem but a new battery and a new starter didnt fix it. It went away for a while but returned to haunt me. I noticed a weird buzzing sound when i turn the key to the spot where the engine should have turned over. I hear it under my dash right by the fuse box.

I'm researching the manual and doing the "Ignition Coil Relay Circuit Troubleshooting"

Anyone did this before? Or had this problem with the same symptoms?

Any inspiration would help..
