Heating Problems

Last night the heat was working just fine. But, after my mom had taken the car all day only the drivers side heat works. when i set both sides to 80 degrees only the drivers side will blow hot air. While the Passenger side will blow really cold air. I have tried messing with the setting but nothing seems to be working.

Any advice?

For what it is worth and I am not too familiar as to what may resolve this bit, Do Not Blame Your Mom! LOL.. You may want to check into your dual climate control. I am a new TL owner and not really familiar with everything. I would recommend searching the forum before anything. I personally would look into the electrical schematics if you can find them. There is a possibility that some sensor or something in the climate control has malfunctioned. Once again, I am a NOOB and just purchased my first TL a month ago!

not to jump on your case but in your post you mention 3 times you are a noob. once will do just fine.

And i am not blaming my mom, it is just to show that I don't know what happened that day.

You might try sounding a little more grateful. I'm sure his intentions were not to annoy you.

Sorry nasty_nos i was having a bad daily earlier. IHC your right i shouldn't be saying shit to anyone.

On a lighter note, for some reason heat was coming out of all 4 vents. Don't know why it wasn't working before.

That's weird. It almost had to be electrical since the water control valve had to be open for one side to get hot. Let us know if it does it again. My heat is starting to act up too.

The problem came back just now, the passenger side is blowing cold air when it says it should be 81 degrees. The driver side is blowing hot air.

maybe a vacuum leak on the doors that control the air flow to the vents? not sure if they are even vacuum controlled, but thats a common occurrence in many vehicles
