Headlights and turn signals not working

So here is the scenario:

I was installing HIDs into my fog lights at the bottom of my bumper. All that went well and then I installed HIDs into the headlight housed fog lights. Everything worked at that point so I decided to try to wire the two together. I went behind the steering wheel and cut the dark blue wire with the white stripe. I'm pretty sure that is the signal wire to the fog lights housed in the headlights so everything still worked except the headlight housed fog lights. there are four wires (2 white, 1 black, 1 red) coming out of the back of my switch for my accord fog light mod. I wasn't sure which of those was the signal wire to the headlights so I figured I would use trial and error to figure which one was the signal wire to the fogs. The first I tried was one of the white wires because I figured the black was ground and red was the hot coming into the switch. After I touched the two together my headlights won't work and neither do my turn signals (both from the left stick coming from the steering wheel). I then pushed my emergency parking lights and found that my turn signals and side markers did light up as usual. So the problem seems to be with the stick coming out of the steering wheel.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?

I also didn't smell anything burning or see any smoke so I don't think I fried any wires.

I kind of was expecting some more feedback from here, even if it was just check the fuses and relays blah blah. However, I had the car looked at today and turns out I fried the main computer to the car. Lookin' like the TL might be down for a bit. Not sure if she is out yet based on the cost of the repairs.

Wow! This when a voltage meter would have come in handy, instead of the trial and error method. Lesson learned. Glad you were able to find out the issue though.
