i don't think that i have heard of a 3g tl's HID/headlight being stolen from the car itself.

I think the alarm system goes off if someone tries to steal them...or maybe if someone tries to open the hood...can't remember.

Also, I think the headlights will not work on another other car besides the TL

our HID projectors are popular in the HID retrofiting world but like csmeance said i dont think people jack it out from the car itself.

Theft of the HIDs was a problem with the 2G TLs and even more so with the Maximas, but not the 3G TLs.

i think 3g's are safe just because the 2g's are so easy to steal. if a thief saw an '02 and an '04 in a lot he'll go for the '02. it probably takes him 3 minutes.

For the 3 g TL, to takeout the headligh assembly or just to reac the projector, the hood has to be open, the bumper removed and then some.

yeah... RIGHT!!!... you must have hands like a 3 year old... and some very specialize tools to uncrew the ballast from the underside of the actual headlights... the bulbs themselves can be removed without complete removal of the bumber through the wheel well...
