HID Bulbs?

For those of you that upgraded your headlights...

I have an 05 TL, (nav + manual) if it matters.

I wanted hid fogs which are pretty obvious, a set of bulbs and a set of ballasts.

I am purchasing new HIDs in my headlights because they are flickering and going out so I am just replacing bulbs and ballasts (oem) with a new set. I would like to have high and low HID not the halogen highs and HID lows.

I was told I need to order a Low Beam Kit and a High Beam Kit for my headlights, not including fogs.

Is this right? If so I will be wiring up 6 ballasts and 6 bulbs, seems odd.

You need to do some more research. Every week just about the same question comes up. We don't have separate hi/lows. It's all with in the same projector aka Bi-xenon projectors. You have auxiliary/fog lights by your projectors.

Thank nate,

I have done more than enough research, my reason for asking is I was told by a forum vendor I need to purchase both a high kit and a low kit when I asked him/her for a bixenon. So I was thrown off when a forum vendor was wrong/attempted to rip me off...$60+$60+$60 just for lights.

Well you would need an hid kit for the foglights. If your ballasts are going out on you're headlights just replace those.

The vendor your speaking with is either unfamiliar with what bixenon actually means, or is trying to get you to spend more money than you need to. Bixenon means that the cutoff shield moves out of the way for the high beam, not a separate bulb igniting. It means something a little different in a reflector housing situation (as opposed to projector), but it is still one bulb.
